Accompanying Driver Assistance Package

Family members, friends or colleagues can play a key role in helping learning drivers achieve their goal of a full driving licence and becoming a safe and responsible driver. This could be through having driving related discussions, helping with study for the Theory Test or actually supervising the learner’s practical driving. Driving lessons represent a considerable investment in terms of time, money and commitment; according to figures published by the Driving Standards Agency those who pass their driving test have had, on average, about 45 hours of professional training, combined with 22 hours of private practice.

From these figures, you can see that private practice can contribute significantly to enabling a learner to become an independent driver. However, it is important to ensure that what is practiced builds upon and enhances the professional tuition provided in driving lessons.
